Former Manassas City Councilmember Jonathan Linden Way died Sept. 28 at age 84. Way, who more recently was a Gainesville resident, was born April 21, 1939, in New York, according to an obituary submitted to a funeral home by his family. The cause of death was not disclosed. Way, a Republican, was appointed to Manassas City Council in 2007 and was subsequently elected in 2008. In 2015, Way was appointed the city's vice mayor. He was voted out of office in 2016 after falling short in the at-large general election to Democrat Pamela Jo Sebesky.
