Republicans surrounded Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin during a visit to Juke Box Diner in Manassas on Tuesday, August 19, 2023. Youngkin helped cook breakfast and talked with diners during the 8 a.m. visit, using it to stump for Bill Woolf, who is running for the Senate District 30 seat in western Prince William County. Youngkin, who stunned Democrats when he won the governorship in 2021 — the first Republican to do so since 2009 — says he's focused on getting more Republicans elected to the state senate, which Democrats still control.
